Minimal discomfort

Some people have discolored, thickened nails that have not improved with oral or topical medication. Fungi can settle deep in the nail, so treating only the surface may allow recurrence. Ointments and other topical products alone may feel slow to work.

Onycho laser

The clinic describes this laser as targeting fungi deep in the nail and supporting recovery of damaged tissue. There is no incision or bleeding. Discomfort during treatment is generally limited, and patients can return to daily activities afterward.

Who may consider it

Examples include yellow or white discoloration and thickening from fungal infection; little improvement with previous oral or topical medication; difficulty taking antifungal medicine because of liver problems, pregnancy, or other reasons; and recurring nail problems.

Alongside ingrown nail care

Fungal nails can also contribute to ingrown nails. When both problems are present, the clinic plans correction and laser treatment together.

Treatment outcomes vary by person.

FAQ

01 If I have onycho laser treatment, can I skip antifungal pills?

Having laser treatment does not mean everyone can skip medication. Evidence and indications differ by device and method, and laser alone cannot be guaranteed to clear the fungus or cure it. Treatment is discussed after checking why medication is difficult for you and how extensive the infection is.

02 Is onycho laser treatment painful?

Pain during treatment is relatively low, and because there is no incision or bleeding you can return to daily life right away.

03 How many onycho laser sessions will I need?

The number of sessions is discussed after checking the nail and fungal infection. Toenails grow slowly, so it can take several months to more than a year for the appearance to recover.

04 Can nail fungus return after onycho laser treatment?

It can. After washing, dry your feet well, including between the toes, and change damp socks. If you also have athlete's foot on the skin, managing it is important too.

Aftercare guidance

Four ways to support recovery.

Do not cut nails too short

While the nail is being corrected, trim it straight across without cutting too short or digging into the corners.

Avoid tight shoes

Avoid narrow toe boxes and high heels during treatment.

Keep your feet dry

Dry between your toes after showering and change your socks every day.

Contact the clinic for pain or discharge

Contact the clinic if swelling, discharge, or pain worsens. Do not dig into the nail at home.
